I’ve been in a constant state of reinventing my personal brand on Instagram for as long as I can remember. My page has always reflected who I am in that moment with a collage of important things in my life. The posts, though don’t always come easy. There are days where I want nothing to do with the camera. Days where I can’t think of anything to post, nor do I want to share.
Typically, these days reflect more about how I’m feeling on the inside vs what I have happening on the outside. I might be tired, overwhelmed or exhausted at just the thought of having to put on mascara.
Then there are the days I shine. Those are the days you’ll find posts on my wall. Big smiles, snuggling cats, kissing the bf and all the selfies. These are the days I feel my best. The days I want to show the world just what I’m made of.
It’s funny to me that selfies sometimes get flack, people critiquing them as narcissistic or someone full of them themselves. I know I’ve had cruel messages like that anyways, and I can’t help but wonder how someone can twist something positive into something negative. I see nothing but self-love, pride and someone brave in that moment to share with the world a little glimpse of who they are. Even for just a moment.
We all have our ups and downs in life, and yes, social media can become a highlight reel but isn’t that wonderful? Pictures celebrating your best moments captured forever. That’s beautiful.
So, when you’re feeling up to it, take that selfie! Shine your light and radiate that self-love that you’re so worthy of!
