Untamed: Coolest Dodge Minivan!

Last year we owned a beautiful Jeep Trailhawk. I loved the way it looked and how it drove, but it wasn't very practical for the growing business. I needed something that could carry more load and that I could sleep in.

Jeff, my boyfriend loves to research anything and I mean anything and for hours. He is like my own personal Google, it’s great. I simply tell him what I need to information on and off he goes on a research mission till he knows everything about the topic. It's a great feature to have in a boyfriend haha.

The Dodge Minivan is the winner!

He really did not want this to be the outcome (he wanted something cooler) but the Dodge Minivan won by a long way. It is a great price, cheap on gas, has stow and go seating, a backup camera and a hitch for my bike. How could we say no? Goodbye cool jeep, hello minivan life. I was excited, Jeff was slightly embarrassed but his research never lies. Thank you Dodge Cranbrook for making the process so easy

Next job (for Jeff) was to figure out how to build a bed in the back making sure there was still lots of storage for me when I do festivals. It’s crazy how much stuff we need when doing shows with the tent, display, signs and all my designs. 

Purple Paint

We started cutting and drilling and painting bits of wood. We built 2 box frames for the bed with storage underneath. I wanted to make sure that we could still use the 2nd row of seating, so that’s why we made 2 boxes. The box at the back is in place and the 2nd box can easily be unscrewed and pulled out the side doors when you need to use the seats. 

In true Emma style I couldn’t just pick grey paint for the bed frame, we painted it purple and I love it. 

Kaslo, B.C here we come

So obviously we had to test it out, so we packed up the Dodge, loaded the bikes and headed off to beautiful Kaslo B.C. As you can see by the pictures it’s pretty tight up in the sleeping quarters, haha, but it is actually really comfortable. I know right? There is actually more space than it looks like and we both slept really well.

We survived, we are still together and I think we have the coolest Dodge minivan ever. Untamed can now cruise around in style, having naps wherever we want to.

Festivals

All my festivals got cancelled this year because of Covid19, but I know we will all be able to gather again in a field or on the beach and dance to amazingly talented bands, eat great food and shop from lots of amazing local artisans.

I am lucky to live out West where we have so many amazing festivals in some of the most beautiful locations. Every August, in Fernie, my hometown, we have the Wapiti Music Festival. This is such an incredible event with fantastic music, beautiful scenery and amazing local support, who love supporting local businesses like myself.

I love coming back to Fernie to sell my designs and I will always love and appreciate the support that I get from the locals. It is an amazing place to grow a business.
