At the risk of making a massive understatement, the last year has been a challenging one, and for many, self-care has fallen to the wayside as a result.

I am also lucky enough to have such beautiful friends who don’t mind getting half-naked in the streets in any weather. Plus they all look amazing in my designs and love playing dress up for the day.

 

I am not who I was when 2020 started. I’ve grown, I’ve battled, I’ve changed. For better and for worse and that’s ok!

And one of the most important lessons that I’ve learned so far is that I am a much better mom when I take good care of myself.

When you begin to think your job or purpose is obsolete all those inner critics really have a field day. It doesn’t take a pandemic for them to get vocal anyway, oh no.

There is nothing that can break my mood faster than a simple try on session. I am literally every woman in sizes and for some reason I let it define me. 

Visual art has always been my way of observing and learning about my place on this earth, and how can I make it better. 

I love doing shows, seeing different people with a variety of body frames, ages and styles try on my designs and love what they see in the mirror. 

COVID hit, people needed masks, I have fabric, I have the skills, I have the time. I wanted to help I just had to figure out how to do it safely.

I am so excited we turned a Dodge minivan into a cool sleeping machine, so Untamed can now travel around doing festivals in style.

The pandemic has taught me a lot but it has also given me time, something I have always complained of never having enough off.
