"Happy, healthy, and Sane”
Posted by EMMA STEVENS

Working out is essential for my sanity. It feels fantastic to switch off my mind and work up a sweat.
Initially, I struggled to find the motivation to exercise at home because work was always present and often took precedence. A quick email would turn into hours on the computer, and various tasks would pop up throughout the day, causing exercise to be pushed aside.
I have now scheduled my workouts for at least five to six times a week, first thing in the morning, for 20 minutes. While I prefer to work out for 30 minutes, I'm being realistic, and it's better to do something than nothing at all. I set my alarm for 20 minutes and enjoy moving my body. As long as I press play, I never regret it!
Staying healthy is very important to me, and the fridge has never been so close and easily accessible as it is when working from home. I can quickly fall into the trap of eating unhealthy chips and chocolate all day, but preparation is the key to eating healthy.
I am a huge fan of making a big dish of veggies and a protein (meat, beans, chickpeas, lentils) in a yummy sauce, whatever I fancy. Then, when I am ready to eat, I can heat it and have it on its own or add quinoa, potatoes, pasta, rice, wilted spinach or a fried egg (my favourite). This way, it’s quick but tastes different each time.
Snacks are essential when staring at the computer blankly and need a boost. My go-to snacks are hummus, snap peas, crackers, cream cheese, almonds, and berries. Also, I am English, so a good cup of tea will solve almost anything, except when I do not want to do something.
I set aside a specific day or afternoon to engage in Non-Untamed activities. I organize everything on my to-do list, then switch off and never regret it. I enjoy getting outside for a walk, bike ride, snowboarding, picnic, or tea and cake—anything that allows me to look around and smile.
Spend your time wisely, avoid regrets, learn from mistakes and look after yourself. Time is precious, and every moment only comes once. Thanks for reading, and enjoy your day! If you are ready for more Untamed, read all about what I want for all of us in the next blog.
